Submissions

Our editors are looking for high-quality, creative, non-fiction manuscripts across various areas of interest. We publish works that combine a distinct voice, expertly crafted prose, and a strong vision.

 

We prefer a digital copy of your work, submitted as one single document in Microsoft Word or one PDF file.

A strong submission will include:

A brief cover letter describing the work, the author’s background, including previous publishing credits and current platform for publicizing the work, and why the work is a good fit for Sentient.

A brief synopsis, one to two pages in length.

The work itself. Submit a full manuscript or a sample of at least 20-30 pages. Pages should be numbered.

We have typically published titles with content related to the areas of holistic health, alternative education, psychedelics, science, and spirituality.

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we cannot confirm receipt of every query. If we are interested we will contact you directly.

The review process for full-length manuscripts can take up to 4–6 months, or longer in some instances. We appreciate your patience when submitting your manuscript. Phone calls, emails, or letters of inquiry will not hasten the process.

Now reading literary fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry

We are in the process of launching a new literary imprint and are now accepting submissions in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Our editors are seeking, above all, seasoned writers with expertly crafted prose. Send us your literary work that challenges the status quo, the brings us into opulently built worlds, that cracks open our hearts and makes us feel something.

Excerpts and Reproductions

Please send your request to: contact@sentientpublications.com

If you would like to reproduce material from one of our books we need a written request for permission including the following details about the book from which you wish to reprint:

  • Title and Author
  • ISBN
  • The exact material you wish to reprint
  • The page numbers on which the material appears in our book
  • A copy of our material in context

Also, please include the following information about the media in which you want our material to appear:

  • Title or URL
  • Publisher
  • Proposed date of publication
  • Price and print run, if applicable
  • Territories for which you need permission (US, US & Canada, World, etc.)
  • Any other information you feel would be helpful in evaluating your request

If you would like permission to photocopy material, please indicate the page(s) and the number of copies.

If your request is incomplete, we’ll have to return it for more information. It can take up to three weeks to process these requests so please submit as early as possible. In most cases there is a permission fee associated with reproduction of materials.

Fees can be discussed only after permission is granted.
